Studio Gestalta has implemented server-side tracking into WooCommerce (e-commerce plugin for WordPress) through Google Tag Manager (hereinafter “GTM”) to ensure consistent purchase conversion reporting in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and the Meta Business Suite. GTM deploys and manages the Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel) to send data to Meta Platforms, Inc. for measuring and optimizing advertising performance. GTM is used to manage and deploy website tags and does not collect personal data itself.
To streamline these processes, Studio Gestalta uses the server-side tracking infrastructure provided by TAGGRS B.V. which combines client-side tracking (data collection from the browser) with server-side data collection to offer more reliable analytics, improved privacy compliance, and a comprehensive understanding of user behaviour and e-commerce performance in the WooCommerce Store. Depending on the configuration in GTM, data transmission from TAGGRS to Google’s servers may include information about website interactions and technical data such as IP addresses. TAGGRS acts as a technical service provider that processes data on our behalf.
The Meta Pixel can collect the following data according to Meta’s documentation:
Anything that is generally present in HTTP headers which may include data like IP addresses, information about the web browser, page location, document, referrer and person using the website
Pixel-specific data, including Pixel ID and the Facebook Cookie
